This course is tailored for law enforcement investigators seeking to lead investigations in counterfeiting and piracy. Building essential competencies to execute investigations effectively and serve as subject-matter experts within their agencies and international networks.
Core learning objectives include defining the scope and methods of transnational IP crime, outlining the procedural steps for initiating and sustaining investigations, and reinforcing practical skills to pursue counterfeit and pirated goods.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of INTERPOL’s pivotal role in global IP enforcement and learn to leverage its critical tools—such as I-24/7, databases, and alert systems—to enable real-time intelligence sharing, joint operations, and seamless international collaboration.
The INTERPOL Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a five-day intensive course designed to provide participants with the fundamentals of adult instruction and curriculum design. Participants learn and put into practice a variety of strategies to deliver effective instruction through in-person, blended, and/or online training.
Participants will design an original lesson plan based on the ADDIE instructional systems design model (the training cycle), incorporating diverse instructional methodologies to ensure effective delivery to varied audiences across different learning environments. They will also engage in public speaking exercises to refine their delivery skills.
This course is for law enforcement officials seeking to apply adult learning principles and instructional design, as well as course managers responsible for developing and overseeing training or performance improvement programs within their organizations.
This course is centrally managed by the INTERPOL Global Academy (ACA) under the INTERPOL Capacity Building and Training Directorate (CBT) and is delivered by IIPCIC.
Based on the IIPCIC Task Force Model for Preventing and Combating IP Crime, this specialized training program for law enforcement focuses on combating the growing global threat of counterfeit lithium-ion batteries products linked to fires, injuries, and fatalities.
This training features an immersive tabletop exercise that simulates the interception of large-scale shipments of unsafe batteries. Participants practice coordinated, intelligence-driven responses across agencies in collaboration with private-sector partners to build effective, real-world response capabilities, developing critical tactical and operational skills to disrupt illicit supply chains.
Exercises include container inspections, targeted raids, public-private coordination, and strategic media management, all designed to mirror the complexities of actual enforcement operations.
This hands-on approach ensures that participants gain practical experience in identifying vulnerabilities, managing evidence, and communicating effectively under pressure.
